Easy Beef Chow Mein Recipe

1. 1 tbsp vegetable oil 2. 1 medium brown onion, chopped 3. 2 garlic cloves, crushed 4. 600g Coles Beef 3 Star Regular Mince 5. 1 carrot, peeled, halved, thinly sliced 6. 1 tbsp plain flour 7. 1 cup Massel beef style stock 8. 350g packet fresh chow mein noodle 9. 1 bunch baby pak choy, trimmed, shredded 10. 1/2 cup frozen pea 11. 2 tbsp soy sauce

Method Steps: 1. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and crushed garlic.

Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until the onion has softened. Add the beef mince.

Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up the mince, for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Add the sliced carrot. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until the carrot starts to soften. Sprinkle plain flour over the mixture.

Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Stir in the beef stock. Season with pepper. Bring to the boil.

Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.

Meanwhile, place the chow mein noodles in a heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Set aside for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender. Drain.

Add the shredded pak choy, frozen peas, soy sauce, and oyster sauce to the pan.

Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes or until the pak choy is just wilted and the peas are tender.
