Track and Field’s Alica Schmidt ‘world’s sexiest athlete’ turns down 6-figure offer

German track and field star Alica Schmidt, known as “the world’s sexiest athlete,” told Fox News that she turned down a six-figure sponsorship deal.

The 25-year-old Instagram star with over five million followers told the OMR podcast that she wasn't aligned with the company.

Schmidt expressed her unease and lack of conviction in the deal despite the large financial offer. The rejected campaign sponsorship was assessed at mid- to high-six figures. Schmidt's separate BOSS agreement shows her sports marketability.

A well-known brand offered me two months ago. I wasn't 100% behind it, she said. I don't like that. Probably mid- to high-six figures. For a campaign.”

Schmidt revealed in October that Sporthilfe, an athlete supporter, pays the German national team $739 a month in sponsorships.

In 2020, she made the German Olympic squad but did not compete. Her goal is to qualify for the Paris Olympics this summer.

Schmidt said she must push herself daily to overcome her sport's hurdles. She noted bodily tolls like vomiting after exercise. She enjoys the development made through devotion and tenacity despite the challenges.

Alica Schmidt helped Germany win silver and bronze in the 2017 and 2019 European Athletics U20 and U23 Championships, respectively.

As of February 18, 2024, she won the 4x200 meters relay short track at the German Indoor Championships at the Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig. Schmidt stays prominent on and off the track as she continues her athletic career.
